Spirit of Place by Adam-Scott-Miller Spirit of Place by Adam-Scott-Miller
Oil, acrylic, ink, pastel, pencil on 20 x 40 in. canvas. 2010.
310 hours.
The vision was at Boyd Big Tree Conservation Area in Harrisburg, PA in mid-November '09. Hiked out and found the spot, plein-air painted the scene for several hours in oils and nearing twilight this came to me in a receptive, meditative flow. Recorded originally in sketch, notes, photograph and memory.

NOTE: This is, by far, the most detailed and technically adept painting I have ever made.

This would be an incredible trip viewing, it has characteristics of a real place, but then the spiritual effects and smooth blending with the surrounding area really bring you into a dream-like state of being!

saw this one in person when you featured with Alex Grey and a few other psyches in melbourne.
'twas epic. I was going to show you one of my major folders which I had with me, but time was running short and you were immersed in conversation. (:

It seems almost criminal to have such an intricate piece of art in such a low resolution. Fantastic work nonetheless.

My love for your work extends beyond the friction of Spacetime.
Together we will induce the awakening of our kind.
The divine light will once again flow through us, illuminating our source of observation.
We are in the Kingdom of God, no doubt.
No faith needed. Just pure experience.

Possibly? It probably is at least a more sensitive area than most.

The whole area was actually covered with these flowing liquid-light fiber-currents, but selectively focused on the chunk I painted here. Also, this chunk seemed to be literally connected to my body, perhaps exchanging with me or the thing is actually a projection of my energy body.

Intriguing stuff!

Funny though you ask about "time warp", this is the particular area I had many significant experiences several years ago.

i really love this of all your work adam, it draws me within itself like it sucks me to become a part of it!!1

interesting since ive been a fan of particle physics and there is somethingelectromagnetic about this, seems to me you are radiating your psyche and manifesting it in your work and not only that you manage to pull the viewers into your universe, where we are at the mercy of those dazzling energy, an escape to this dark world, truly my friend you are a painter of light, i just dont know why roberto venosa didnt realise it

I think it's wonderful. I like the flowing energy.
That also raises a question... as you call it a vision this is something you see, with or without drugs, or feel? Or do you just let your imagination flow on the spot and be creative? It looks like when you stare to long in the sun.
Thank you for sharing.

Kind regards
Marcel Bakker
